Several Jasta 14 DR.I's survived into the hot Summer of 1918 and as result had their cooling holes enlarged in-the-field to prevent the engine over-heating. Jasta Boelcke also adopted this practice.
An additional side cooling hole is inscribed on the inside of your cowling.
This shape can be realised by careful filing.

A 3d printed part, the cowling requires priming and fine sanding to remove faint build lines.
