Ground-breaking Aviattic "linen", streaking, painted effects and "woodgrain" effect decals!
PC10's, PC12's, CDL etc...
Beware imitations...
Apply to white gloss undercoat, pale cream or grey to give variations - many different pre and post shading techniques allow a level of realism never possible before..and applications beyond WW1 modelling.
Try the linens to simulate tarpaulins, sails, parachutes.....
For slicing as rib tapes choose "White Decal Paper" which gives a solid colour
, Please note that some colour variation may occur as this is a different type of paper
..the effect and contrast is very realistic!
All colours are my interpretations of the colours of the period and arrived at after much debate and testing with my very talented and patient decal artists, Juanita Franzi and, on occasion, Dave Douglass.
I worked in the antiques and interiors trade for thirty years, specialising in colour and paint effects and restoration. This experience helped greatly when evaluating and studying real artefacts of WW1 aircraft parts and fabric coverings, both printed and painted.
The work and theories of historian Alan Toelle have been an inspiration for decades and the guidance of historian Bruno Schmäling and occasionally Manfred Thiemeyer, invaluable..
After having been shamefully shunned by the established English-speaking WW1 publishing world for many years, Bruno has now found an outlet through the wonderful Aeronaut Publications group and the occasional article in US journal "Over the Front" - publications no WW1 aviation student or modeller should be without.

This sheet is the same pale blue as ATT32140 and is intended for the underside of Voss' iconic Fokker F.I 103/17, a tailored underside set will be announced in November 2017.
ATT32142 (White decal paper) WW1 German pale blue doped linen "Fokker light"
I believe the original three triplane prototypes were painted slightly differently to the later, darker, DR.I production aircraft.
This sheet is the same pale blue as ATT32140 and is intended for the underside of Voss' iconic Fokker F.I 103/17
ATT32048 (Clear Decal Paper) WW1 German Pale Blue Doped Linen "Albatros"
Modern thinking favours the idea that tinted dopes were sometimes used on the undersurface of German airframes rather than "paint' giving a more translucent effect over the linen - this is our spin on the manufacturer Albatros' colour - particularly their DIII and DV series...

ATT32064 (Clear decal paper) Black doped linen
Night fighter schemes? The wings of von Scheich's all black Albatros?
This "off black" subtle linen effect looks uncannily like dope-shrunk linen on an airframe - try it!

ATT32226 (Clear decal paper) German "Feldgrau" light grey-green linen/canvas
The new "Feldgrau" series offers choices that reflect the differences in colour between fabric sample relics from both world wars. Like the PC10 and PC12 colour debate - there is no one "Feldgrau"..
With many applications beyond WW1 aircraft models (Gotha G series and Fokker Eindeckers particularly), think of truck tarpaulins, tents, sailcloth -even larger scale figures clothing...
ATT32227 (Clear decal paper) Red oxide paint on linen
Red oxide is virtually different in every batch and tin ever opened!
It has many applications from the interwar "Silver Wings" period, WWII, post-war and current day - acting as a protecting coat to UV vulnerable linens and resisting corrosion.
Following the instructions - lay over gloss white primed parts to achieve the colour intended or tint your background to alter to taste.
ATT32228 (Clear decal paper) German "Feldgrau" medium grey-green linen/canvas
The new "Feldgrau" series offers choices that reflect the differences in colour between fabric sample relics from both world wars. Like the PC10 and PC12 colour debate - there is no one "Feldgrau"..

ATT32229 (Clear decal paper) Red oxide primer on linen (interior effect 1)
Red oxide is virtually different in every batch and tin ever opened!
It has many applications from the interwar "Silver Wings" period, WWII, post-war and current day - acting as a protecting coat to UV vulnerable linens and resisting corrosion.
This sheet "1" represents the effect of "bleed through" to the interior.
Following the instructions - lay over gloss white primed parts to achieve the colour intended or tint your background to alter to taste.
ATT32230 (Clear decal paper) German "Feldgrau" dark grey-green linen/canvas
The new "Feldgrau" series offers choices that reflect the differences in colour between fabric sample relics from both world wars. Like the PC10 and PC12 colour debate - there is no one "Feldgrau"..
With many applications beyond WW1 aircraft models (Gotha G series and Fokker Eindeckers particularly), think of truck tarpaulins, tents, sailcloth -even larger scale figures clothing...
ATT32231 (Clear decal paper) Red oxide primer on linen (interior effect 2)
Red oxide is virtually different in every batch and tin ever opened!
It has many applications from the interwar "Silver Wings" period, WWII, post-war and current day - acting as a protecting coat to UV vulnerable linens and resisting corrosion.
This sheet "2" represents a fainter effect of "bleed through" to the interior.
Following the instructions - lay over gloss white primed parts to achieve the colour intended or tint your background to alter to taste.
ATT32232 (Clear decal paper) German "Feldgrau" dirty, faded linen/canvas
The new "Feldgrau" series offers choices that reflect the differences in colour between fabric sample relics from both world wars. Like the PC10 and PC12 colour debate - there is no one "Feldgrau"..
With many applications beyond WW1 aircraft models (Gotha G series and Fokker Eindeckers particularly), think of truck tarpaulins, tents, sailcloth -even larger scale figures clothing...

ATT32234 (Clear decal paper) "Walnut/birch/mahogany" woodgrain light
Our translucent decal paper allows pre-shading techniques onto your white gloss prepared surface.
The tone of the decal can be altered by using different underlying gloss coat - try creams and greys to alter to your requirements!

ATT32236 (Clear decal paper) Linen/canvas weave effect (clear background carrier)
Linen/canvas weave effect can be overlaid over paint to simulate fabric!
Try over gloss aluminium for a "silver dope" effect!
ATT32237 (Clear decal) Rittmeister red, "Jasta 11 red", paint on linen
Suitable for any aircraft where a strong red is required - especially the Baron's Jasta 11 Albatrii and triplanes!
ATT32238 (Clear decal) Braunrot, paint on linen
A warm red/brown as seen on the tails of Jasta 65's OAW Fokker DVII's.
The rather poorly renovated "U10" in the Smithsonian displays a duller, dirty brown - most likely a poorly-judged match to a filthy, original finish before we had more understanding of paint and varnish deterioration.
This, along with other major discrepancies in "U10"'s finish render it useless for serious study of the appearance in wartime. A real missed opportunity which so many museums are guilty of around the world..
ATT32239 (Clear decal) Berthold blue, paint on linen
Every lovely WW1 colour profile you'll see of German aircraft will be an artist's impression and with no original fragments to study this is my interpretation, at scale, of a strongly pigmented blue straight out of the Berthold-favoured tin at the Jasta stores - or purloined locally!
ATT32240 (Clear decal) Büchner blue, paint on linen
Blues, of any shade, famously show as a surprisingly light colour in photographs using various types of film stock available during WW1. Virtually impossible to judge, many try using the simplistic "greyscale" theories still argued over today, even the great Peter Grosz accepted defeat on the subject of determining accurate colour callouts from period photographs.
Here is my take on the blue paint on Büchner's famous Fokker DVII and other machines of Jasta 13.
ATT32241 (Clear decal) Off-white paint on linen
Never use pure white or black on scale models!...
ATT32242 (Clear decal paper) Jasta 64 Green/turquoise paint on linen
Recent published information in Bruno Schmäling's excellent "Jasta Colours" book suggests, from the recorded reminiscences of Uffz. Rudolf Lochner, that the fuselage colour of their Fokker DVII's was a "green with a touch of turquoise".
Here is my take on a scale version that looks spectacular with 5 colour lozenge wings, silver painted cowlings and nblack and red painted tail!..
ATT32243 (Clear decal) von Marwitz claret, paint on linen
I am happy to refer to Bruno Scmäling's excellent work any time and his book on Jasta 30 is one of the finest WW1 aviation references ever published.
Mark Miller's lovely colour profiles reflect Bruno's theories and this claret was inspired by these.
ATT32244 (Clear decal paper) "Jasta 30 orange" paint on linen
Again - Mark Miller's profiles illustrating Bruno's work proved the inspiration - gorgeous!
What a sight they must have been..
ATT32245 (Clear decal paper) Jasta 65 grau-violet, paint on linen
Described as close to a "slate grey" I thought it unlikely that such a dull colour would be chosen over a slightly more nuanced hue. Sadly, no documentation is published of any findings during "U10"'s botched restoration to help us. It's current, restored finish impossible to judge from photos due to flash photography necessary to see it..
Various airfield pictures show "Seven Swabians" looking distinctly lighter than other machines of the unit and so I have gone for a darker variation here.
ATT32246 (Clear decal) bright green, paint on linen
A highly pigmented green, again, straight from the store room!
Jasta 5 Albatros DV tails, Büchner's Fokker DVII..
ATT32247 (Clear decal) Chrome yellow, paint on linen
Rich yellow, often translating as a very dark colour in period photos.
Jasta 10 unit colour and inspired by Russell Smith's painting of Loewnhardt's Fokker DVII.
ATT32248 (Clear decal) "Silbergrau", aluminium flakes suspended in grey/white tinted dope (apply over gloss aluminium)
This colour has been arrived at after studying an original Pfalz sample (that also has the company logo decal) I am lucky enough to own.
Through a microscope you can clearly see the tiny flakes of aluminium suspended in the grey tinted dope that helped protect against UV light damage.
This sheet demands experimentation on the modeller's part as various pleasing effects can be achieved by using silver or aluminium gloss undercoats in place of the usual white..
ATT32250 (Clear decal) "Jasta Raben" red, paint on linen
A variation on the red theme which looks great against "off white"!
ATT32251 (Clear decal) Jasta 12 blue, paint on linen
A colour I have always loved as Ray Rimell portrayed some Jasta 12 Fokker DVII's wearing it in the Albatros Productions book on Jasta colours. No proof of such a colour but the muted tone blends beautifully with the "lozenge" palette and is perfectly believable..
ATT32252 (Clear decal paper) German dull "Lila" paint on linen
ATT32253 (Clear decal paper) German rich "Lila" paint on linen
ATT32254 (Clear decal paper) Unbleached linen
Another option for German aircraft. Samples studied can vary in quality and colour.
RFC and RAF linen was usually "calendered" (i.e the weave was flattened by heated rollers at the mill) but the Germans had faith in the theory that natural fabric had better adhesion qualities for the application of dope and varnish, requiring less and, therefore, saving weight.
Top quality linen supplies were soon exhausted and the German aviation industry had to use whatever it could get, even examples of linen destined for table-ware is recorded as having been used.
This sheet represents a warmer, varnished tone.
ATT32255 (Clear decal paper) German light green paint on linen
ATT32256 (Clear decal paper) German dark green paint on linen
Aviattic "Fokker streaking" decals
As with all my decals these are a translucent film and you can add your own brushstrokes in green, olives and browns (ideally on your gloss undercoat before decal application) to personalise.
Colours simulate factory-fresh Fokker green. Age to taste with tinted varnishes.
ATT32058 (Clear decal paper) WW1 Fokker "streaked" camouflage (fuselage, turtledeck & tail application)
Check your references for your particular subject's camouflage "footprint" - no two aircraft were the same!
