A warm red/brown as seen on the tails of Jasta 65's OAW Fokker DVII's.
The rather poorly renovated "U10" in the Smithsonian displays a duller, dirty brown - most likely a poorly-judged match to a filthy, original finish before we had more understanding of paint and varnish deterioration.
This, along with other major discrepancies in "U10"'s finish render it useless for serious study of the appearance in wartime. A real missed opportunity which so many museums are guilty of around the world..
